i used a tampon as my object i like my patterns i want to do more and experiment more with my scanned tampon.

Exaggeration

my exaggeration project deals with my exaggerated definition of beauty and the fact that i find beauty in repulsive grotesque things as most artists do.

Self Portrait

so i was really inspired by the crit last week and started working on my self portrait right away i spent a lot of time on it and i am proud of it and i am very excited to show it to the class.

Text project

this is my text project. it was fun working with text. my favorite part was actually finding a quote i liked and summing it up into a sentence i felt related to my future.

triptych

so i had a lot of fun with my triptych. it turned out okay i think. kinda wanna fix it up but right now i really don' t have the time. the comments in the crit helped. hopefully the next crit will not take 3 hours like this one did! also i cant figure out how to not have my text be a link and its pissing me off

Still Life Assignment

this was my favorite project so far. i like referencing from real life rather than making up something in my head. i was really suprised everything worked out considering this was my first time using illustrator. still cant figure out the linking text ugh.

Introduction

Hi, my name is Kathleen Maura Hetrick but everyone calls me Katie. I'm planning on becoming a figure painter. I live in Oreland Pennsylvania, i moved from Mayfair when i was about 5 and even though i barely have any memories i still make it known that i "grew up" in Northeast Philadelphia. I have two little pug doggies that i love dearly. I want a great dane but my parent's won't let me have one. My parents are still together which is a strange occurrence in today's high divorce rate society. I'm pretty content with living in the Philadelphia area for the rest of my life although at some point i want to go to europe, specifically Germany. I am %50 German and proud of it. Most of the music i listen to as well as the culture i contribute to has come from Germany. I have a sick obsession with my taste in music and go to club Shampoo every Wednesday to satisfy my cravings of hard pounding industrial beats. I have two specific groups of friends, the one's who listen to industrial and the one's who don't. I like strange and obscene things whether it's music, art, people, whatever. I've known that i wanted to go to art school since i was a freshman in high school. It was the only thing i found motivating and interesting. What i liked most about it was the fact that art is allowed to be weird and conjure up feelings in people that can be most uncomfortable in normal life. Or maybe that's just the way i see it. Regardless here i am at Tyler excited to learn and become a successful artist.
